I am building an FVK Silent Dream. It has provision for a 4 servo wing
and I have a FF7 Tx.

I know how to set up a sailplane wing for this with flapperons but this
leaves me with a problem as to where to put the motor throttle as this
would use the throttle stick for the flaps. I could put the motor on
the retract switch and just bang the motor on and off but I am so used
to using the throttle stick for the motor I am reluctant to do this.

Anyone know of a way to do this without buying a new Tx?

Assuming that you won't want to be using the throttle with the crow brakes
out, hook them all up to the throttle position, ie ailerons on 1&7,
crow/flaps, on 5&6, operated by switch A, the progressive flaps are on
rotary switch 6. Servo No's 7&6 in the left wing, & servo No's 5&1 in the
right wing. With full crow brakes out, you can still operate the throttle
from the stick if you have to. Plug it all in, try it, it works. I have
done this with my Highlight 2m, & it works fine. Yes it does ! It's an all
or nothing thing with the crow brakes on switch A. though. Ray.

I also have an Alpina 4001, which has full length flaps & ailerons. They
operate as full length ailerons, coupled with the flaps, separate flaps, &
crowe brakes proportional from the throttle stick, but no motor function of
course. The TX favoured by a lot of the hot competition guys is the
Multiplex 4000 & above, where there are endless combinations, & every
channel can be intermixed with every other channel, ad- infinitum, but at
over a grand it's not for me, ta very much. Hope this all helps & not
confuses you. Cheers. Ray

You need to land with brakes (crown brakes: flaps down aileron up) and
this is best on the throttle stick: you control your brakes.
The motor is best controlled with the switch.

I am now changing my mind: the first 50% of the throttle stick controls
the motor and the next 50% the brakes...

I'd do the obvious thing and rethink it. The motor has to go on the throttle
stick and the flaps to another control since they will only require
adjustment and then left for periods of time, unlike the throttle. IMHO
